Woven

Woven is a 3 week Dance Trapeze series focused on moves and mini sequences in the ropes. This is an area where we often focus on tricks and miss out on hidden shapes and woven pathways, that lead to unique spaces and spontaneous flow.

In this series, you’ll learn a variety of moves, how they work, how to  find them in the ropes, and how to explore sequences to expand on them.

Think of this series as half technique and half creative. It’s about more than learning to do the tricks, it’s about understanding and learning to create from them.

Class will be on Wednesdays July 3rd , 10th & 17th AT 4pm BST. Each class will be approx 75 min.

WEEK 1

This class will be focused on moves that come from creating a shelf, hinge or balance point in the ropes. I’ll teach you some mini sequences from these places and then encourage you to explore your own pathways from there.

WEEK 2

This week is focused on wraps, knots and ways of weaving yourself in and around the trapeze ropes. How to find pathways that spiral and wind, and how to explore without fear of getting tangled and stuck.

WEEK 3

The third week is all about moves that create an X in the ropes, followed by mini sequences travelling from the cross in various ways, to allow you to develop your own unique take on the move.

Woven consists of 1 weekly live class per week for 3 weeks. As well as 1 bonus class on how to incorporate spinning while moving in the ropes. Each week has a specific focus, that will build on and relate to moves and pathways explored in previous weeks. There will he a private Whatsapp group to ask questions/ share videos with Kalina as well as connect with fellow aerialists during the course.

Are you unsure where to begin or what to do when creating sequences in the ropes?
